My car is in the process of a 383/Turbo build. GMR Speed is building the custom single turbo kit for the car.

It will have a front mount intercooler, and a t76 turbo. I'm looking for around 600 HP.

They will have the LT1 Turbo kit avaliable for purchase in the next few months.

Still toying with the idea. If the car ever goes fast enough they make me put a cage in it...It may just turn into a 427 CI 18* turbo engine....

You two that posted numbers, can you tell me what octane you got those figures on? I too am interested in a turbo LT1 setup, front mount or sts..

fabgmc4me, do you know what kind of power you'll be making on pump gas, if that's a high octane number?

Thanks a lot.

EDIT: what's being paid total for an LT1 turbo setup, assuming no intercooler.. ?

A friend is building his LT1 to be TT with the Turbolocity (?) prototype kit (from what Ive read there was a LS1 prototype and a LT1 prototype, he owns the LT1 version).

Waiting for him to get it done.

single t70 here, upgrading soon, stock 350 didn't last long enough to dyno, little misshap, (didn't like 30 psi for some reason). numbers should be 550+ to the ground, with heads and cam, fully forged bottom end and 8.4:1 compression.

Hands down it would walk away from my supercharged engine seing how I was making 6 psi at 2000 rpm's, verses 6 psi at 6000 rpm's.

as for the cost, minus engine and man hours, it in the neighbor hood of $1,400.00

I'm looking for those numbers on 93 octane. I 'm not exactly sure what type of numbers I will make, but my estimate is around 600rwhp. The car will be fully built, fully forged internals, 4 bolt splayed mains, custom cam, trick flow heads, upgraded fuel system, ect, ect. I should be able to run some high boost. On race gas I'm not sure what I'll make either.

I'm guessing at that price its non-intercooled, and you did a lot of the work yourself? Sounds badass, and good luck with the project. I'd love to turbo mine eventually, but a blower is looking a lot more realistic for me.

it is intercooled, but I got a great deal on the turbo, just going to have to upgrade soon to a bigger turbo though to make the numbers I want to hit.

I spent
200 on the waste gate and bov,
200 on pipes and header flanges,
200 on intercooler,
and that leaves 800 for the turbo.

Yes, the heads, cam, intake, bottom end, and exhaust are all stock (except for turbo where the muffler was of course). It was tuned on 93 octane, and that's what I always run with.
