high compression?

should i have my heads decked to run 10:8:1 will it add power/hurt power its only 75 bucks and the heads are off the car. I need to have the heads decked anyways because of some damage.

A lot of guys run higher than that especially with a cam with any real amount of overlap.

I'm going to have 11.25 in a couple of weeks. As previously stated the right cam can keep the dynamic compression ratio reasonable.

my cam specs are 224 23x 53x 550 on a 114 lsa do u think 10:8:1 compression is going to help? do i need to get the intake and exhaust mated if they deck it that far or should everything still line up good

What gaskets are you using. Just a decent thin gasket will get you over 11. You are shooting yourself in the foot with the 114

what is stock gaskets compared to Fel-pro gaskets. How thick are they.

i was spraying on the cam thats why i went with a 114

You will be fine with 10.8-1. The stock gasket is .049" and I believe the Fel-Pro is .039". Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.
