Scatter Shield
I think F-body motorsports has replacement bellhousings that are said to eliminate the need for a scatter sheild. But they are expensive.
I just bought a trans blanket I bought at an event for $80 and strapped it on.

There are cuurently no SFI approve bellhousings for the LT1 / T56 combo. It can be done with time and money however. I did the following:
Used the McLeod universal SFI bellhousing
Had the input shaft of my G-force T56 machined down to compensate for the difference in bellhousing length
used an 86 and up 1 piece seal street twin clutch
used a viper front plate and an LS1 throw out bearing that with the above clutch converts the system to a push style
Kept the stock master and used a McLeod line that mates the LT1 master with the LS1 bearing
Don't ask me how it works because I have not used it yet but in theory everything will be fine with the added benefit of the better push style clutch and it will be SFI legal for the 9's.

I think i will just buy the blanket. You can just leave it on all the time right like if i were to drive it on the street or where ever i could just put it on once and leave it right???
