For The Pros?
For The Pros? Ok my buddie has a silver 96 z28. And it was overheating at 100k mile. I got a few questions for the pros.
His cam is worn ,like the teeth are warn out will this cause overhating? is this common? how often does this happen?
he gots it all taken apart so you can just take the cam out. Whats a good mod(cam) to do to this car. His goal is fix the over heating and make it a little faster.
i need to know what water pump to use?
what cam to use.
what parts to use?
any info would be great.

I had the same problem (over heating) and i came to know that it was from a blown gasket, I decided to overhaul my motor and add some flavor to it as its all out in pieces so I decided to go for the mods that you can see in my signature.
I would have gone for a bigger cam such as the GM, but i got a really good deal on the Hotcam.
If your friend is not low on cash, he can can get his heads ported and get that stock block stroked.
Not that I'm and expert, I'm new to this my self, but this is what I got as advice when i had this problem.

what gasket did you blow? and did you go with h/c or just cam

head gasket, and I got the cam kit only, i will calculate how much i spent n the car today and if the ammount is still lower than what I expect, ill send the cylender heads and intake for porting.
