Default Front Seal Leaking

I noticed a grove in the crank hub while replacing the front seal. After replacing the seal I’m leaking oil from it because of the grove. Does anyone know if they make a sleeve for the hub like they do for cranks or do I have to replace the hub in order to fix it?

Are you sure that it's leaking from the crank seal? If you put the water pump drive shaft seal on before you put the shaft through it you are probably leaking there. That seal has 2 lips on it going in oposite directions and you have to put it on the drive shaft first and then beat it into the timing chain cofer with a socket. If the leak started after replacing an opti and you removed the w.p. drive shaft and just stuck it back in I can almost guarantee this is the issue.

If the problem isn't the water pump drive as mentioned above, I believe you can get new hubs relatively cheap. If not, a used one is always an alternative. I know I sold a good use one (mine) on Ebay a while back. Try these guys also: http://www.tacreationsusa.com/

It's the main seal, the hub had two groves on it. I know summit sells them for $95. I think gmpartsdirect has them for 75 shipped. I was really hopeing that they made a sleeve for the hub. I'm a little affraid to buy a used one, my luck it would have the groves also. Thanks for the replies.

I have a hub off my '96 that's only 9 months old. Let me know if you want it. Just make sure it will work with your '93..

Matt, thanks for the offer. I'm not sure if it will work since the 96-97 have a different part number to support the crankshaft position sensor. It may be that the 93-95 won't work for 96-97, but the 96-97 may work on 93-95. Maybe someone will post up with the answer. I'll do some research in the morning. In case it will work, what would you take for it?? Thanks, Anthony
