What Would You Guys Build A 383 Or A 396 Theres Not Much Price Diff What Are The Pros And Cons?

Plain and simple " There is NO replacement for cubic displacement". Go 396 you will be happy with the end results. But if you go 383 you will still be happy.

Either would be fine, I built a 396 because the price worked out well for me!

LOL, it's built to hold 250 fully forged, Part of it is my noids are weak and struggle at over 100. The other part is i like taking my time to my max output, I'll run a high 10 on a 75 shot and bump it when I get bored!

I buddy of mine (94greencamaro) is getting a 383 with AI heads, and he is exstatic about getting his up and running.

I can't remember the source, but I read a thread where someone suggested that a 383 with a 6 inch rod was the ideal engine. They were discussing NASCAR and such, and their argument was quite convincing. I would suggest more research prior to making your decision.

does not matter 396 or 383, it will come down to how good your heads flow and the rest of the combo. That is what is important!
