question about motor disassembly
question about motor disassembly i am probably going to be pulling apart the bottom end of my lt1 tonight and i have never done it before. any good sites to read on how to do it
i know to label the rods and pistons need to be labeled as well as the main caps so they all go back together into the same spots and cylinders.
after you get the main caps off do you just pull the pistons out the bottom of the motor?
and how do i know if the main bearings and cam bearings are ok?
the story on the motor are it had a intake manifold leak and water mixed with oil.
that took out the camshaft as well as lifters.
i am wondering what else it took out.
if you dont realize it by now this is my first time going deeper than replacing heads on a motor.
