Default What Am I Gonna Do?

Ok, I was just getting ready to set up my valvetrain tonite, after I put all the lifters in I spun the motor over acouple of times to make sure all the lifts move up and down freely in their bores. While I was spinning the motor over I could feel the motor getting hung up on something in 2 spots but it only happend ever 2 revolution of the crank, so it lead me to believe something wasnt right with the cam (CC306 cam). I took the cam out then spun the motor over again and it didn't get caught on anything. I reinstalled the cam and it was getting caught up again. So I've come to the conclusion that the crank is hitting the cam. So now what do I do?

It is probably pistons hitting the valves but doubtful are they stock pistons or what. We need more infor to help you. I ran a 306 on my stock bottom fine b4 some Nos made the little lt1 Hope you have a stick or a high stall auto. Mine was great but I had a 4500 stall and 4:10's and wound the **** out of it. It ran great though.

I havent installed the push rods yet, and it only binds up when I have the cam in. It looks like the rods bolts are hitting. The motor is a 383, forged 3.75 Eagle crank and I beam Eagle rods. I been reading of some people grinding down the rod bolts. I've also herd of getting a small base circle cam for clearances. What do you guys think I will have to do?

You have to figure out exactly what is hitting, then you'll be able to figure out what to do. Grinding the rod bolt is one thing, but if the rod body needs mods, you'd have to heat treat afterwards. If it is the rods or bolts you should mod all 8 sets, because the ones that aren't hitting now may hit at high speed or under load. Did you grind your own reliefs in the sides of the block for the rods to swing by?

Let us know what you find.
