I recently bought a set of heads. 2.00 int 1.55exh and they flow 291 cfm at .600 lift. I was thinking about going with the zz 409 cam. I just want a goood lopey cam but get the full power out of the heads. (not a big fan of lt4 hotcam). I also was wandering if there be a valve clearance problem at say a .596 lift. Thanks

 

Piston to valve clearance is not an issue I have ever heard of in the LT1.

I would recommend you use a different cam from a different manufacturer though. TPIS specializes in EXPENSIVE parts with mediocre results on a good day.

 

yeah they charge like $350 for a cam! it would be cheaper to take their specs and have it built custom

 

could anyone recommend a good lopey cam that will make full use of the heads
