I just got a 99 SS with 63500 on the clock for 10 Gs, be a lil patient and be ready to jump on a deal when it comes by!

got my ls1 2 years ago for 8000. had 79k on the clock.

You should have no problem finding a 98-99 ls1 z28/formula for under 8k.
You have to be patient.

Now an ss or a trans am...that will most likely cost you 10k or more.

A stall and tire's should get you into the 12's. If you have an automatic.
I had all of that except a gear on my 95 T/A, and high 12s sounds about right.

3600 stall
BFG drag radial
K&N cold air
Hooker long tubes, off road Y, and catback
stock 3.23 gears
Reprogrammed with 160 thermo etc.

I was talking about an ls1, I thought he was too. But I see that I misread it. Sorry about that.

if I was too get a ls1 car I would have to put a SS hood on it, they look kinnda plain. But my roomies 2000 SS looks goooood.

But I still think the LT1 SS looks way better. JMO

i love my lt1...however if you can, get an ls1, superior head design, cam swaps have netted almost 400 hp in some instances.
