Default spark plugs wrong?

wut does it feel like when two of your plugs are in the wrong spots?? will it kind of surge at idle, and shutter a good bit if u were to give it a good bit of gas, but do alright(not good) but alright under very slow acceleration(babyin)???

The firing order does not sound like anything. It's the order the cylinders fire. I believe it's the same order as previous SBCs. However I forget the order it is. Older gearheads could tell you the firing order like their phone numbers; I always have to look it up. Anyway, on the driver side you have the odd cylinders and on the pass side you have the even cylinders. The opti does not follow that sequence in regards to the terminals (from top to bottom nor bottom to top). I might look it up later.

1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. If your wires were crossed You would experience a really rough idle and it would run like ****.

Just about all chevy's have that firing order, even big blocks. Been that way for years, easy to remember. On the front of your OPTI should be the order of the plug wires for the side they are on. Wipe the front off with a rag and look for them, they will be raised numbers, and that order is top to bottom. I wrote it on the front of it after I found it, makes it alot easier. Odds on the drivers side, and evens on the passenger side.

Why don't you just check the wires and be over with it? Instead of asking if thats your problem?
The fuel pump I beleive will make a squeeling sound??

Not to flame here, but you either have the worst luck with your ride or you need to let someone else do the work.

It wouldn't matter if any of your plugs were in any spot. What your describing sounds like a misfire. That's either because your plugs are shot or your wires are burnt.

To check if they were crossed, on the driver side, the wires in the distributor should go 1,7,3,5 (1 being the bottom of the engine, 5 being the top). On the passenger side, it should go 2, 8, 6, 4 (2 being the bottom of the engine, 4 being the top). But I doubt that's the problem unless you previously changed the wires yourself.

We were telling you the firing order and the plug wire spots so you could check them and see if they were crossed. You ask a question, and those of us that have had our **** apart to that point are telling you a way to troubleshoot this problem. It may be the wires, it may not be, but you have to do a little bit on your part and look. We can only help so much.

I think everyone agrees to just do what I said in the first place, trace the wires off your opti and see where they go.

checked wires all good, i have noticed as we finally had a cool front come through texas to bring us out of the 90 degree heat that it runs better when it is cold, or hasnt been run for a while, and as the car heats up it begins to idle surge more, and i get the flutter/bog when i gun it in lower rpms, anyone have any ideas, and YES i do have the worse luck ever, cuz i jsut changed, plugs, wires, opti, waterpump, timing chain and all to try to get rid of it and to no avail it still dont have the power i so sorely have been seeking for the last 2 months since i got er'

Check the Air Elbow on the front of the Throttle Body, make sure that the Resonator Tube is fully attached. If it isn't, the car will do what you are describing. Mine did it a couple of times.

Would incoming air temperature sensor do this? Possibly throttle position sensor?
