I broke a Lingenfelter 3.5" driveshaft on the starting line, the car didn't even trip the staging lights. It broke at the 1330 yoke. Since then I have upgraded to a PST 3.5" aluminum driveshaft, which has a 1350 yoke and 1350 U Joints. It is rated at 1200 hp. I sell them on my website for $399.99. Bob

go to ebay there's a guy there from indiana driveline or something close to that. I bought a new 4" aluminum driveshaft rated to 500 rwhp for 150.00. I called the guy to place my order and he said i'd need a aftermarket ta to clear it. I should have it thursday but the damn car won't be done for a while. When it is I'll let you guys know if it's crap or not.

if your not pushing a ton of HP you can use a stock LS1 driveshaft.... I have one in my car because a friend of mine stole my steel one because he was afraid he was gonna twist his stocker..

I got a used Ls1 driveshaft for $90 off of one these boards about 3 years ago. It's held up so far and totally eliminated the high speed vibrations I had.

A bud of mine with a blown '66 Impala just snapped a driveshaft that was good for 1,000 HP, he's prob running 650-700. The transmission shattered, the shaft ripped out the safety loop and completly tore up the floor pan and. Are you guys sure that aluminum driveshafts are a good idea? I'll stick with steel.

Probably better than the stock LT1 2.5" steel driveshaft for strength is the LS1 A4 2.73 gear steel driveshafts. I have one in my 98 Formula and it is 2.75". I bought another one out of a 99 2.73 A4 Z28 for my 94, $20 at a junkyard.

I have to throw in a vote for the PST aluminum. I was having pretty intense high-speed vibrations.

The driveshaft totally cleared up all of my vibrations. Oh and my stock shaft was the LS1 aluminum which I think are crap! Don't waste your time getting one of those, save up and get a high speed balanced shaft you will be much happier...IMO.
