Default Accel Optispark

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Does anyone have this opti? I am looking into buying a new opti and was wondering if this would be a good option. It looks like the MSD opti will never come out and the Dynaspark is over 600. I definitely don't want to go LTCC or Delteq so don't even bring that up. The only thing i see with the accel opti is that it doesnt say you can adjust the timing on it like the dynatech or msd unit can. I plan on going with some N20 so will not having the adjustable timing feature hurt me?

Umm MSD opti is out, and has been shipped. Guy on the impalaSSforum just got his in the other day.

IMO you're wasting your time with the ACCEL unit. You'd be better off with the OEM one. There's a guy on the ISSF board who's a ACCEL dealer and he doesn't even recommend people buying it. Made In China, and besides the cap and rotor, there will be no replacement parts made for it.

Good reads if youre thinking of either. My early opinion is the Accel is crap because using oil lite bushing instead of a bearing. Id only use it on a stock car or if youre to cheap to buy oem or better.

someone made a comment about the oil lite bushing not being too much of a concern, but IMO I wouldn't chance it..

IIRC you can get the accel opti cheaper from JC whitney than Summit somehow.

Meh. For the price I guess it's ok. It's perfect for the kid on a budget. It's good to have choices and in the end only time will tell.

so i guess the only way you'll get an msd opti is if you've had a backorder for one for the longest. looks like im going to have to play the waiting game.
