Default cam swap need help

I am wanting to swap a new cam into my trans am this summer. I am thinking bout either the CC306 or the GM847 which do you prefer? If not either of these then what cam would you suggest? Also, along with the cam what other mods do i absolutely have to make (other than computer tuning)?

What mods do you already have, and how many miles on your engine?

all i have right now is CAI, headers, !cat, borla cat back... thats it as far as the motor goes.. i am going to have the car dyno tuned after the cam install. i was just wanting to see what as far as stuff like rockers and lifter i would NEED to upgrade at the same time as the camswap... i dont have a ton of money to spend but i want to make sure it will run right

I run the cc306 and as for what supporting mods you will need they are springs, locks, retainers, I went with comp 1.6 rrs, new pushrods, a new set of stock lifters is fine, gears and a dyno tune. But I will say the cc306 and gm847 are good cams but are fairly big for stock heads. Remember biggest is not always best or will it make the most power it is all in how well your setup is matched together that will determine how much power you will make.

Yeah, I bought a cc306 and all the supporting stuff- springs, lifters, pushrods, rocker arms, etc. awhile ago, then realized I would have to pull money out of my *** for gas if i wanted to drive the car. Also, might want to look into a convertor, I had a 3200 fuddlle racing one. Also, my car had quite a few miles on it so that was another reason I never put it in. Just do research so you don't end up with a closet full of good stuff like I did.

crane powermax 2033. real mild makes good power even without the tune. sounds great. its loud so the cc306 or gm847 have to be ridiculous. im just waiting on the tune but i am satisfied with the cam so far.
