Default Lt1s with Port Pro Heads?

Im looking into getting the Stage 3 Heads.

At this point i really know nothing about picking th right heads, I have less than a month to get parts orderd for my new setup.

What I do know about heads: Lower CC and high flow 3=Good Velocity, I also know how to read flow numbers. And thats it.

Just wondering if any LT1 guys have had any good results N/A with PortPro heads?

Thanks Guys,

Tony.

Harold is the owner, and yes he is a bad ***. Ive emailed him back and forth a few times.

I know tony has AFR 227cc those really dont compare to Stock castings being ported.

I saw this thread and your other thread asking about LE3, AFR's, and Ai's packages. I honestly think you would be happy with any of the above, but I would shy away from AFR's unless you are looking for larger goals that down the road your stock ported castings won't be up to the task. Are you planning on going with an off the shelf cam, or a custom from somebody?

I tuned a 95 TransAm with a 383 LT1 and stage 3 heads from Port Pros. Only had a CC306 cam and it put down 430rwhp 449 rwtq through an auto unlocked t/c and 12 bolt. I wish he would get a custom grind for those heads and we would really see some #'s.

My old heads were from Port Pros as well. They were stage 2 AFR 190's on my 396 LT1. I had a custom grind hydraulic cam. Car put down 479 rwhp 452 rwtq through a TH400 and 9". This was in 2004 when I ran the 9.85 @ 140 on spray.

His stuff works!!

I just had Harold do a 383 for me with his "Stg 2" heads and a Comp XFI cam. 236-236, .576-.571, 113 lsa
This motor was built for boost, with the intentions of going all the way up to 15psi. The head flow sheets for my Stg 2's show they outshine out of the box AFR 195's w/ 100% porting, and really compare closer to other peoples Stg 3's from Port Pros. In other words, his porting guy went a little over-kill. But Im not complaining.
If your interested, I can email you my flow sheets.
Have not dyno'd the motor yet, as its not completely broken in quite yet. Hell, I havent even gone WOT yet.
I did however do a third gear pull to 4500rpms @ approx. 2/3 throttle. This yeilded me about 2psi of boost at 4500 and it was pulling harder than the stock motor ever did on 10psi @ 6k rpm!
Give Harold a call and tell him Justin Daniels sent you. Also, dont forget to mention LS1tech.com

Harold is doing the heads and shortblock for my turbo motor. I wouldn't trust them to anyone else at this point. He's gonna use stock castings (they are already ported, he has to fix some flaws ) then we'll go to trick flows, afr, etc... later.

He did fix a set of stock castings for a friend of mine & Tony's. Those stock castings flowed 287@.600 & over 200 on the exh @ .600 (cant remember for sure).
