well i think i have decided on this setup please critique

Why not a slightly longer rod???? Like an Eagle H-beam 5.85 rod????
you didn't say what pistons you are going with but a 4.030 piston setup for a 3.75" stroke and 5.85 rod length can be done..... longer rod will give you more dwell time at TDC and a more efficient burning 383.... little better piston to rod ratio as well.... less friction on cyl walls and slightly lower oil temps.....
Just a thought. slap some JE or SRP pistons in there with a -5cc dish for the valves. should get you close to 12:1 compression.... it'll be a nice power making 383.... this setup sounds mighty close to my old 355. that thing was scary fast...
