Few thoughts:

1) As far as flow of the stock system, refer to these diagrams:

http://lt1info.com/TECH/Cooling%20Sy..._radiator1.gif
http://lt1info.com/TECH/Cooling%20Sy...ms/DSC1272.gif
http://lt1info.com/TECH/Cooling%20Sy...tor_hoses1.gif
http://lt1info.com/TECH/Cooling%20Sy..._coolant_1.gif

2) You MUST keep that steam pipe active. Since it is an outlet from the heads, you'll probably want to connect it to an INLET on the radiator (but not an inlet to the waterpump, as you don't want to introduce any steam/air pockets back into the system). This would entail that you 'tee' into the radiator inlet hose -- either making your own fittings, or purchasing a fitting intended for this purpose. I don't have a link handy, but I know there are manufacturers for this.

3) We were having this discussion on another board, and it turns out that the waterpumps in the Vettes/Fleetwoods/etc don't have the waterpump fitting on the bottom driver's side. As such, you could try purchasing one of these specific pumps, or otherwise block off your fitting entirely. I don't believe this will present any problems with flow. You can see what I'm referring to BY CLICKING HERE.

Not sure how much that helps, but it's a start. Hit me back with your thoughts, as I'm not there to see what exactly is going on (-and I have a 1994 with different hose routing).

Yea, the steam line is Extremely Necessary. You have to get it into one of the return lines somehow. You might have gotten the wrong radiator, seriously.

you sure on the flow of that? I have it routed the opposite way right now... ready to go. I figured the hose on the drivers side was THICKER so it would be the suction point.

Everyone said the side that the thermo is on is always top???

if someone could verify which hose goes to the top and what goes to the bottom so i can fill her up with coolant and go... i would appriciate it!

thanks..

The radiator is a universal radiator... griffin said they would fix it and change everything around "Under warrenty" because it has a 2 year warrenty on it.... but i dont have time. I will have it worked out. i'll take pics when done... i jsut need to figure out if the hose coming from the thermostat housing goes to the top or bottom... then i'll get home and take pics..
