Default Question about installing headers.

Im thinking about getting pacesetter LT on my lt1
and i was wandering if i tried to put them on from
underneath if i would have to jack one side of the motor
up still and what all else i would have to unbolt to do the
swap. I need some of yall's opinions about the swap too.

When I was doing a pacesetter long tube install on my friends 97 WS6 LT1 we put one header in from the bottom and the other in from the top. But for both of them we took out the bolt that holds the motor to the motor mount(1 at a time) and lifted up the engine a couple inches so we could fit the header. Its really not that difficult it just takes so time.

when I did FLP longtubes, there was no need to remove the motor mounts. i can't imagine that the longtubes from brand to brand are THAT much different. Enough wiggling should get it in there.

I just did this job.

Yes you'll have to unbolt the passenger's side motor mount and give it an extra inch to get them in. They HAVE to go in from the bottom, no way around that.

You'll also have to undo the steering arm at the rag joint (behind the plastic cover) and move it to the side to get the headers in.

Other than that, it's a pretty straightforward job. The gain in sound and performance was worth every minute of the job and every dollar spent. After tune I gained 6 MPH, granny shifting

Right now I have BBK shortie headers. How many tenths
at the track should the Pacesetter Lt's take off on my ET?

I've heard of people say .3-.5 gain with LT's over stock manifolds, I'd assume .2+ over shorties.

Why Pacesetters? Are you on a budget? Why not go with a better header?

I am fixing a blown Head Gasket at the same time I plan to put on Pacesetter LT's. I might be possibly putting on new Heads, so the Headers will go in real easy.
