A stall can make me launch 2000 rpm higher. The Auto is a perfect shift every time, and it is at the same point. You won't be that perfect with a Standard, epecially if you miss a gear. I have raced a few of my friends in their cars, and they tend to miss 3rd alot...
The Auto can also be modded for strong positive shifts(Line Pressure Boosts and Shift Kits) which definately help. I was thinking about converting mine to a 6-speed, but I have a brand new Transmission in my car, and it is definately faster than alot of the cars that I have raced. I might not get off the line fast, but I catch up and fly by them, and they can't catch it. Damn I can't wait to put the LT's on it..

Might be a little hard for a wannabe member of the village people to understand.

Lots of people I know give me **** for it being an Auto, to them it's not a real car, a "girls car". No one has stepped up to challenge it though, they think it's not fair cause I have a V8...I thought it wasn't a real car cause it was an Auto.. Then finally someone stepped up with a 5spd Honda Civic, thought he had me cause he had a manual. Yea, ok. I even beat him off the line. And people still talk ****... lol
Properly tuned, an Auto will have just as much guts as any 6-speed. My car pulls strong all the way to 125mph, and it has a nice strong pull from 60 and up, thanks to the 3.73's. Shifting into second, then flooring will white smoke the tires easily. Sure driving a 6-speed is fun as hell, I miss driving one, but the Auto is just a little easier on the Differential, eventhough I blew the stock one apart on a stock motor...

If you dont have drag radials I estimate about an 8.4 or .5 cause in my 95 m6 on street tires I couldnt launch higher than 2500rpms

I know exactly what you are talking about. I have been in the Fbody game since high school. Everybody talked **** to me for having an auto saying its not a real car, or its not fast because its an auto. Needless to say my at the time stock 2.73 geared, A4, 235 series tired, vert waxed every car in the parking lot. (My car was the slowest production V8 4th Gen). The whole 6 speed is better is only for ricers. You are not going to beat a built and stalled properly running automatic. Just like you said the 6-speed has a fun factor that my auto will never be able to achieve, but for consitency, speed, its the better choice. Once again awsome post.

So what I have a stock car with the only thing different under the hood other than completly original stuff is the air filter and a cutout everything is original equipment. I am damn proud of my unmolested car. You too like earlier posts in this thread are un able to take a joke or yet for the matter like you said

well you sir have **** on my posts and my sig. I was just askin about what was on there curiously because I thought it was funny. Well I realize now that I am speaking to a brick wall for somone who can put his little John Travolta disco fever move infront of a REAL mans car is obviously ignorant to boot on this topic and you sir are just most likely too stupid for your own good to understand what respect is.
PS. Mustang Dyno rice comment = YOUR

Back to the original topic of this thread about M6 and A4
Both cars have thier ups and downs.. It is a known fact the A4 with a TC will rape most M6 with same mods in the 1/4. M6 just puts more on the driver than the car. Its purely preference some think m6 is more fun.. some thinks m6 is just a pain in the big fat royal ***. I personally like both a4 and m6 both fun to drive really some times its nice to pop into an automatic and just not have to do anything but stop chill and go.

I'll be the first to say anybody who thinks you'll be more consistant with an automatic is full of dooky.

I still say 8.20's. Stop screwing up this thread.

Are you joking???

That is not a thought, its a fact. How on earth would a manual transmission be more consistant??

I thought you knew.. the m6 transmission gets into your brain like the matrix... you become the car. Its impossible to miss a shift.. nobodides EVER missed a shift.. oh yeah and id pay $1000 to see somone shift late or early.. I bet thats NEVER happened.
This is coming for a m6 driver whos owned by a4 and m6. M6 IF launched right will ake the A4 down.. but from a dig that A4 will hound MOST m6's.
BTW camaroguy22 im not replying to you im talking about the guy who posted before you
