I bought the 230/236, but it is going in a 350. Since you have a 383 maybe go with the bigger cam. One will be mild, the other radical so the choice is yours.

the 230/236 is great cam it gave me 407 rwhp and 396 rwtq, the only thing thats killing me is the lift. Not enough. You will like the way that 230/236 sounds. I have it on a hookers w/ LM setup (using a bullet)

The 280XFI seems pretty mild to me. I'd go bigger for a stroker.

Since you have a stick, I'd go with the Comp Cams XFI LT1 Camshaft, 242 / 248, .584 / .579 113 LSA. You couldn't get away with it on an auto street car, but it should rock with a manual.

If you have all these choices, why not go with a Comp Cams solid roller?
