Default is it fast

i bought a 95 formula about 6 month ago , i have always wanted an fbody . i have never had a v-8 car that was fast so i have nothing to compare this to . i dont know if the motor has any work done to it or not , but i raced my friends 96 impala from a dig up to about 85 and i beat him by 10-15 cars (i guess ) does this sound right ? the car is a 95 formula with a 6 spreed and a little suspension work .

How is your car slow if you beat some car by 10-15 lengths (not that you can even be accurate when it's that bad)?

If it's your first v8 car it will feel fast for a short time, but drive some newer or more modified cars and a stock lt1 will feel like a dog.

Yea, a V-6 FWD Impala is no competition for one of these. Some guy tried to run me in one. It will feel fast, but once you start playing with it on the streets you will run into faster cars, and you will see where it fits in. Then you start to mod it, and you will get faster. What do you have done to it?

i had a 1999 gtp that was kinda fast , but the v8 feels like it has alot more grunt .the gtp had a cold air intake , cat back ,and a blower pulley . it only ran a 14.7 with traction problems .

a stockish lt1 runs high 13s or low 14s so it's a little faster than that.
