Default Replacing the Flowmaster

Latley, I've been hearing a little rattle behind my car. It sounds like it's coming from my flowmaster muffler. I'm taking my car to the muffler shop to get it looked at. If it ends up being the flowmaster, what muffler should I replace it with. (I know flowmasters suck) I was thinking about a dynomax. What do you guys think?

As of now, I have LT's and the matching Y-pipe.

I had the same exact problem so I trashed it. I went with GMMG after that, not sure what muffler you should go with, maybe a Hooker?

Did you notice a power difference after getting a different muffler?

Also, do you have LT's and a Y-pipe. I saw the picture of your exhaust setup and it looks just like mine, except your I-pipe seems to be bigger. (3inch) I still have the stock I-pipe, because I didn't think making that bigger would improve my time at all.

Have you ran your car at the track? I would like to compare to see if it made a difference...

I have a Dynomax Bullet. I had a Slowmaster. It has alot of low-end torque now. I am going to get the LT's on it with the Y-pipe, and run it into the Bullet.

So, you like the dynomax bullet over the flowmaster anyday, right? That's what I was thinking about getting. I just don't want my car to slow down or anything. I wouldn't need to re-tune the car because of a muffler, right? I wouldn't think so...

No, you won't need a tune. You will love the Bullet after you have heard it. Real deep, throaty, and clear. No rattle. My car sounds like a Harley with it on, and I still have the factory Cat on it. I have the Bullet dropped infront of the Rear Axle.

Yea I have LT's and a Y-Pipe. I initially ran my LT's with an ORY and Flowmaster Catback until the muffler started to rattle. Then I put a high flow cat after the Y and installed my GMMG Catback and I know for sure it didnt lose any power. My dad thinks it woke up the car a little bit more but for your application the bullet is much more free flowing than your flowmaster muffler so you will obviously gain a little power. I never ran the car, I was suppose to run my car at the track last friday but it rained so this friday I'm hoping to run if the weather is nice, I'm hoping for low low 13's.

if your going with just a single out i'd run a flowmaster race muffler.
i replaced my bullets with them and it sounds alot better. no more of that truck sound.
since its not a cross flow muffler they flow very well

Well, I just got back from the muffler shop. Something is rattling in my flowmaster. (I guess one of those metal plates broke or something...)

Anyway, I decided to replace it with a dynomax muffler. I'm not getting the bullet, because I would have to re-do my exhaust...I figure the dynomax muffler will be fine. (better flow than the flowmaster I would think)

I have a new Dynomax Ultraflo(17227) that I need to sell. It should be a pretty direct replacement. It's in the classifieds, I have it listed for $85.

I was referring to how low it idles and the lope in the Cam. It's only a Hotcam, but it does lope pretty nice.

Thanks. That is only a Hotcam, with Pacesetter Mids, and the factory Cat. I am putting on the LT's when I get back. When I disconnected all the AIR junk is when I noticed a big difference in the sound. People think it's Carburated, that is how it sounds. The new Headers won't have anything on them, no AIR, or EGR. It will sound real nasty. I am thinking about running it with no Cat.
