you might bog with the slicks, my car did when I tried them (when it was close to stock) never thought it would but my car was faster on street tires.

honestly.. lol... if I can come in making anymore money then of course im going to do it.

Im either gunna go in for Air Traffic Control or Crew Cheif...

back on topic... so anyone thing with slicks a 14.2 will be easy? im going tomarro.. soo
Whoops..meant E3 is the highest you can enter. I don't see how you'll pull that off just by talkin with a recruiter though, unless you have ROTC or some college...then it's standard. Either way it's not much of a difference at all.

Slicks will help a little bit. As someone mentioned, you need more power to get the full benefit of them

I came in E-3, straight out of High School. That was a 6-year Enlistment. I am currently E-5, as a Fire Fighter. Good luck getting that job, the waiting list is nuts....

Ok guys... lol... a 14.9something at 91.8 with a 2.2something 60' on the stock tires

I will apost gain with the exact stuff when i have the time slip in my hand.

THe slicks helped a ton (for traction, car did not bog at all) but they were taller than my stock tires so i actully ran about the same times.

I was whipping up on brand new Mustang GT's though... they were close to the same time... lil slower.

Im going back out in two weeks with a th350 and 3000 stall. anyone think i should get SBC before i launch with that kinda stall?

PS... there was a nasty headwind an i guess everyone was losing 3 tenth on average because of it. So hopefully next time there wont be a head wind and im uncloggin the cats for next time.. lol

You must of been doing some spinning...
I ran a 13.89@100 with only Headers and a K@N. Rest was stock. I might have to try slicks next time, since I have low Gears.

He could have spinned a little bit, but thats not the reason why your times are different than his. Once you get up into the 4000-6000 altitude you can add about another second to your E/ts.

Yea, I hear ya. I ran at Memphis. Then new Mustangs aren't really all that, I test drove one with a friend cause she wanted to see one, but she couldn't drive a standard. Me and her weren't really impressed, and she is a Ford fan. It was a M5, and I was playing with it pretty good, but I wasn't impressed. Then I drove her back to the house in the Z28, and showed her power.
She doesn't like to ride with me anymore... lol

I am stationed in Central Arkansas, nice roads, and nice weather. I can drive my car about 11 months out of the year. There is a 1/8 mile in Little Rock, but the closest 1/4 is in Memphis, about 2 hours away, depending how you drive.

well with this correction thing where i put in temp... altitude... pressure... humidity.. and all the good stuff... at the time with my best run...

Density Altitude = 6788 feet ET MPH

Uncorrected 14.97 @ 91.86
Corrected 13.54 @ 100.64

Based on:
Temp: 71°
Humidity: 37%
Track Altitude: 4860 feet
Pressure: 29.99 in.

I would say my car did not too damn shabby for an Ole Lt1

now my goal is getting that time (13.5) without touching the nitrous or mounting the turbo up... at this altitude

If you're military you can register your car back home. I'm getting mine through Nebraska, so I won't have to worry about it

it didn't bog... it ran good wiht the slicks... the slicks where a little taller than the stock tires so that is the only thing it "hurt"

I was far more consistant with slciks than it was with the stock tires. but... your kinda right... the slicks the bes time was a 15.15 and the stock tires best time was a 14.97... lol.. not a big enough diff to matter...

When i was burning out and let of the brake and keep bruning out the slicks would grab HARD... So with a new trans an stall i think i will be in buisness... but i need different gears...
