Water Pump Problem

Water Pump Problem Well on my friends car we still couldn't figure out why it was overheating so we are going to replace the electric pump with a cam driven pump, nothing worked, well when we took it off the impeller blades and the housing looked burned, like pretty badly. Have you guys ever ran into anything like this? It is a Mezier water pump.
it sounds like you developed a pocket of air in the coolant lines and your pump was trying to pump air...got really hot and burned. You have to bleed the lines and sometimes pour water directly into the water pump housing to get it going initially.
