clear lights size?

clear lights size? ive ordered some clear corners for the front of my car; they were specifically for 94 model shape (ie 93 94 95 etc)... opened the package today and they are actually bigger than my current lights. are they actually like that (ie. does the rest of the light hide behind the bumper) or did i just get the wrong order 
have to do it from the bottom, remove the bottom plastic pieces, I have had a set for like 6 months because I don't feel like messing with the rusted bolts and crap down there. Did my longtubes, but don't want to mess with thoses
