If I were you I'd spend the little extra money and buy a rebuilt Jasper. They are a bit more, bout 3K, but very very worth it.

well I guess it was pretty crappy cause at first I just accelerated really fast really quick and then once I stoped it was making a nasty sound of metal knocking against metal, I kinda HAD to use my car so I had to say that I would just wait a little while before fixing it.

well I had to go on a 60 mile trip and about half way It just went *BANG* kinda like a gun shot and everything started shaking like crazy and I couldnt accelerate like at all I had to keep it at about 1500RPMs and I coulnt get over 35 with out everything shaking to the point I couldn't even focus my eyes....seriously. it was all smokeing and stuff.

so I pulled over and had it taken back to my house....thank God for AAA.
so yeah...right now I'm out of a car.

oh and just cause alot of people have been asking me, yes there was oil in it, actually I had just had the oil changed and everything. and there was engine coolant too.

the most painful part is that I justspent $500 on new Head Gasgets and stuff.

so yeah I think thats about the whole story.

Expecially if you keep driving it after you hear funny noises, then again if you don't have a back up car, you don't have a choice..
Mine blew a Head Gasket right before I left, so it sits in storage until I get back.

I was happy with my Jasper 350 in my 83 Camaro, I didn't pick it, it was in there when I bought the car. I guess that dosen't mean they can build a decent lt1 though?
Ugh LT1 head gaskets. That was my first shot at anything major mechanical, at least now I have a lot more tools. Took me a lot of time, working in the military sucks your time away.
Yeah your heads usually aren't done in, short block seems the way to go.

I got alot of time off, Fire Dept is one on, one off. I have even worked on the car at the Fire Station...lol
I have a little 100-piece Stanley set and a couple of other tools, and I can tear the whole car apart with it. The Head Gaskets shouldn't be that bad.

cause I have like $2,300 in the bank and if I could sell my car for spit do you think it would just be better to do that?

What about this. I know it ended, but I'm sure you can still get one. They'll probably relist it. Looks good to me.
