Can someone tell me where the oil pressure sending unit is on a 97 Z? Is it behind or above the oil filter? thanks

Right below the EGR valve ont he back of the intake. you were way off, they were on the LH side of the block on 93-94 cars.

Screwed into two elbow fittings, which are screwed into the top of the block, behind the intake manifold, pointing toward the driver's side of the car. It takes an "oil pressure sending unit" socket to get it out withut damaging it.

Good luck, Ed

Ok, I'll be taking off my LT4 intake tomorrow to put in some blockoff plates, I need to splice the oil pressure sending unit so I can get oil to my supercharger head unit. Any advice?

There is a port right above were the oil filter goes. Theres going to be a bolt in ther so your going to have to take it out. This is the preasure side of the oil system. Your going to want to use this to feed your s/c with frsh oil.

Ok, and I guess I take that bolt out and then install one end of my 3 x 1/4" nipple into it, but what goes into the 1/4" NPT TEE? looks like a valve type device?

Leave your pressure sending unit alone and tap into the port above the oil filter. You wont need a tee, and it'll be alot more accessible.
You only need the tee if your trying to get oil off the pressure sending port.

Ok, so I'll just use straight fittings off of the port in the block. I didn't know it would need to be tapped, it's pretty cramped under there, I guess I'll see later when I attempt it.
