Default Another LT1 cam queston

I bought a comp cams 224-230, 510-510 lift on a 112 LSA cam for my 95 LT1 motor but after looking around I noticed the LT1 Hot cam which is alot less expensive than the one I bought. How good of a cam is the hot cam? Does it make good power or is it kinda weak? I'm new to the LT1's since this is my first one I've ever owned. The motor is going in my third gen camaro with a T-56 behind it, my goal is 350 hp for now with a cam and roller rockers. BTW, anyone running the cam I just bought? I'm curious as to how it sounds and the power it makes

The hot cam is a decent cam and for what you want might be perfect.. mild ported heads and a hotcam i have seen make 350RWHP and change.. Not bad at all.. But if you alread payed for that cam just leave it in.. it should make more power than a hotcam i believe.. due to it's size. .

I ran the cam you have for a while and loved it (aka the cc503), it has great street manners and made a nice chunk of power. Running midlengths along with the cam and 1.6rr's on a mail order tune it put down 335rwhp. The air fuel could have been leaned out a bit and should have made pretty close numbers to what you are looking at making. I only switched my cam out for a cc306, as I got some LE2 heads and I have a daily driver. The cam has been known to make some nice power with a set of ported heads too, I know of a member on another board making 375 rwhp with the cam you bought and a set of LE1 heads. Like I say, it is a good choice, makes more power than both the cc305 and hotcam. I was told that that cam is pretty decent on spray aswell. I never got to spray with the cc503 to test it out though. I will say you made a good choice

Stay with the cam you have, it'll be much easier to get to 350 at the wheels.

Thanks! I'm glad I picked this cam then because I didn't want to go too crazy untill I rebuild this motor bringing out the 383 package. Like I said it's only got 61,000 miles so for now a cam and a few other mods to get the old race car back on the road is all I need. 350hp will carry the car around pretty darn well considering it weighs at least 400 lbs less than my 4th gen . Does anyone have a sound clip of this cc503 cam and the GMPP Hot cam? Thanks for the help!!
