Default Kind of a n00b LT1 owner...

My dad put in a Comp Cam about a year ago and said it hadn't been tuned? I have never tapped into the computer on my TA and wondered what he meant by that? What can be unleashed once this is done, and what can an LT4 knock module do to help me out?

well what cam did he put in. With any camshaft swap a PCM tune is really needed to make sure things run smoothly and properly. www.pcmforless.com or www.madz28.com are highly recommended. LT4 KM is completely unneccessary as any tuner can take care of any fasle knock you may have..

Yeah, I need to ask him what he put in it. It's a mild cam, it sure turned my 2nd gear on though! Thanks for the input.

Your PCM still thinks it has the stock cam in it, therefore its using all the lift and LSA settings of that.
Once your PCM is aware of the new settings ( a Tune ), the cam will be aligned correctly and you will get all/most possible power out of your new cam.

Odds are you might have new springs, and/or rockers, and/or lifters too. And thats even more powa.

Yeah, It was a rocker that malfunctioned as I was coming in from Lubbock into Dallas...for my best friends funeral nonetheless . But we replaced the rockers and cam, I'll get specs, I'm hoping it will give me a little more power, I'd be content with 300hp . (sorry for the long story) -b

It was the lifter that was bad......BUT......some 1.7 RR's couldn't hurt either.... . I'll get that cam card. Get it tuned and lets run 'em. Tired of the -talking.
