Default LT1 intake height

Does anyone know how high the intake is compared to a TPI setup. Also how much does the intake stick out then the TPI if any. I'm thinking on replacing my TPI intake with a LT1. The current TPI had to be shaved a bit on the top to fit. The groves running down the top were ground flat. And the throtle body is so close to my firewall if i shift hard it knocks against it.

that place converts them to work on older sbc

not sure if it will awnser your question, but it should show you want you need to do about the distributor and coolant cross over

to alter the LT1 Intake retrofit a Standard SBC you will of course first need to machine a distributor hole in the rear. Also you will need a remote Thermostar and need to drill holes in the intake to allow the water passages to flow(LT1 have reverse flow heads, thermostat is part of the water pump assmbly on the LT1's, not intake like in SBC) at the front of the intake. Also, all the faster holes that bolt the intake to the head must be machined, as they are at a different angle as the standard SBC (there more like vortech head intake bolts). Check out TPIS Mini Ram, Its a great intake and may save you money and time for a better finally product.
