Default Crank sensor problem

I have a 1996 LT1 and I am running into a problem with the crank sensor. The piece that goes on the crankshaft wont go flush to the timing gear Like I need some sort of spacer. I am using the cloyes double roller timing chain and gears. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had the same problem, (I had a RollMaster) I was told I had to eliminate the crank sensor and get the timing cover for a 93-95. I sent it back and used the LT4 extreme duty
