Default LE3 Heads Just In

Hey guys, I just got my LE3 Heads and cam package from Lloyd. Now I'm having trouble choosing an engine it will be on. 355/383 I've been thinking on using a 3.50 stroke and making a 357 but I haven't heard anything or any one using this. Anywho any help will be great. So what do you think I should build??

They are 2.055/1.60 valves.

Here are the flow #'s . . . . . . .

.2 143/110
.3 198/143
.4 243/171
.5 274/184
.6 284/196
.650 287/201

What did you tell him you were going to build? The cam is going to be speced on that.

Yeah!! I told him it was going to be used on a 383 with a 100-200shot of juice. I bought the cam seperate from Bret. Bret says it will work both ways
6800rpm on a 355 and 6400rpm on a 383. After the heads were done I asked Lloyd what the heads would work best on and he said the stock ported castings feed the 355 better than it would a 383 which got me thinking again. I was about to buy a 383 assembly but now I'm stuck on what to build

If you are buying a crank either way just do the stroker.

i would go with a 383 personally ... the opti's cap n rotor doesnt like being spun very high! should easily get you into the 11's on a good suspension, and tire ... will probably need a 9in or 12bolt to really get the full potential.

I ran 11.6's at 119mph with a set of GTP heads and a mild cam 222/228 .544/.538 112. 11,s should be an easy task for either a 355 or 383.

If you have been planning a 383 than stay with the stroker.

I am gunning for 10.9's NA and 9.9's on spray, w/ported LT1 castings. The new setup is running a little more cam this time, 246/254 .613/.590 112

Your heads out flow mine down low. Lloyd must be getting better and better. Cant wait to see what type of numbers you make when it's all done.

I would go with the stroker also...I went the times in my sig last year with a weenie Joe O. cam in the 220/230 range and 2.00/1.56s in ported stock castings thru shorties, stock wp and 16x8 wheels all around...Going for 10s n/a as soon as the weather breaks with my latest mods....I think I'll be pretty close in good air...I like the torque of the stroker and not having to rev passed 6300, plus they tend to absorb the larger duration cams to make them feel smaller...

I ran that crank in my old 383 setup for about 6 years. It held up to a 300 shot (150/150 two stage setup.)

I loved it until I spun a rod bearing, had to sell the remains, and took a huge loss on the car.
