safe to build up a 2 bolt main?

what are your goals with the motor. If its a street motor and your not gonna spray the house down on it you will be fine. My motor is still a 2 bolt main block and went to 7000+ for 5 years and for theh little time the jug was on it made 565 ft lbs of torque. Just use good arp bolts or studs. If you want to modify it you can splay the mains.

I prefer a two bolt block myself. If your building a real thumper, it's best to use a two bolt block and have splayed 4 bolt steel caps installed. If your building a mild engine, you don't need anything else anyway.

thanks, thats what i wanted to hear. the guy who told me i would blow the bottom out of my engine used to build big huge drag motors.
my goal is a strong street sleeper,383, i want at least 400rwhp and i want to occasionally go to the track with some slicks.
