Default Which Heads?

I'm looking into getting rid of my hand ported heads and going with a set of CNC ported heads that flow more. I was looking at PortPros, Advance Induction, and Llyod Elliot heads. I'm leaning more toward Lloyd's heads. I like his LE2 heads. I talked to Lloyd and he said that his LE2 heads would work nice with my 306 cam. I'm trying to get the my car to run high 11's on motor before I spray. I also talk to PortPro and they sound like the have some really good heads also. They told me to go with their stage 2 heads. AI looks too expensive. So I guess its down to the LE head and PortPros. Which do you guys think I should run with. So far my best time was a 12.6@108 in very humid 90+degree heat on street tires. I figure with some dr and a better day I might go 12.3 maybe 12.2. I would like to hit 11.8's or 11.7's on motor. So what do you guys think.

My vote is Port Pros. Both are good companies but I think they have an edge over the others. I have owned, installed, and tuned cars with both and the Port Pro heads seem to do better. Not bashing LE by no means, just stating my experience.

It is always a good idea to check it. Most of the time you will not have to change them on a head swap. If the deck height of the block, head gasket thickness, and or, milling of the heads have been changed....then you might.

Trapping 108 in that heat and running 12.6 on street tires! You are hooking and decent weather away from an 11.

You seem set on CNC work but seem to have missed the fact Lloyd's is hand work, not that hand work is bad atall, most heads are hand ported and that can work great.

I am more than happy with the Advanced Induction stuff and come fall I think I can squeeze an 11 out of my full weight Caprice, cam is smaller than the 306 too and the lift is only mid .500s

I would go with E.B. Porting (Joe Overton's porter, whom I used and am very pleased with) or Lloyds stuff...I am somewhat local to Joe and Eric and I figured that Joe has the fastest n/a LT1, so I went with him...My combo runs very stout for a weenie cammed LT1 castings set up...

I will be going with a set of Port Pro's TFS casting heads in the near future.
