Default opti bullit proof

today my opti from dyna-tech proved its bullit proof after a long drive back to my home town it came a down pour a few streets near a friends shop flooded before i left as i started to the house i run down a street that flooded out and i didn`t knoe how deep the water really was and water went over my hood and stayed there the car choked but cranked right back up but would only idle i backed out and of the water after i eased to high ground i reved it up a couple of times it spit and popped for a few minutes then run fine as frog hair it sucked up water throught the cold air system so i say it was well worth what i payed for it and i didn`t need to get my feet wet

Your lucky you didnt lock that motor. Bullets arent really problem for optis, no one ever shoots at them, Plus theres so much stuff protecting it from gun fire, the bumper, crash suport, radiator, condenser, then you have the water pump and crank pulley, would take a very good shot and a very high powered round to kill the opti via a bullet, not a problem many optis face, unless they are in some war torn country, like Uganda, but how many LT1s are in Uganda an way? Not many last I checked, guess GM didnt see a market for them in Sub saharant African countries strifed with Civil War, power and performance just arent good selling points for people who make less than a dollar a day and live to about 19, but thats neither here nor there. A problem how ever is coolant and moisture usally is the death of them, not gun violence. Any case be happy your not rebuilding a motor, opti woulda been last of my concerns, cheap when comapred to a rebuild.

yeah your lucky you didn't lock it up if you have an aftermarket intake those go down pretty damn far you would have been like one of my buddies that locked up his Cobalt SS this week it had a cold air intake and apparently went a bit too fast through a puddle and sucked up enough water to bend all four rods woohoo for him warrantee wont cover it either because it is an aftermarket intake haha

My stock opti went through well over a foot of water from a washed out road during a Louisiana flood. Guess that means the stock opti can stop a bullet as well.
