thinking about putting a D1SC on a 396. would this be a good idea or am i setting my self up for a nightmare?

it depends.......Do you have tons of money to burn??? If you dont then it will be a nightmare.

It would probaly be in your best interest to go with a low compression forged 355 if your looking to run alot of boost. But a 396 would be cool to, just more costly.

That's what I was thinking. I would like to see a roots or screw 396 and a centri 355.

money isnt going to be an issue, i plan i taking a couple of years to build this motor. i would like to run 16 or 17 psi through it. yes, it is a street car but i would get it ready for the track when time comes to go there(15inch rims with slicks, adjust shocks, etc). i hear alot about the 355, anyone know any #s they are throwing out in HP and TORQUE . Im also running 1 3/4" headers, some people say that they are to small, but ive personally never seen that header size choke out. is this going to be a B!tch to tune because of the OBD1.
