I'm pulling the opti tonight, gotta love that 100+ central valley CA heat! Can't do anything during the day time around here.

Going to run the new MSD unit, well I hope this solves my issues.

Did you ever rule out the Delteq to begin with?

I don't have a delteq, I have just a opti with a msd cap and rotor, msd coil, msd6a. Already checked coil and took the 6a out, looks like sparks flying from the opti or something.

Sorry about that. Had my mind on another thread. Could the sparks coming from near the opti be bad boots on the plug wires causing arcing?

yeah someone else thought the cap maybe cracked, that freaks me out that the msd cap maybe didn't last 6 months, I mean they use the same cap and rotor on their complete opti! Makes me wonder if I should really get the msd opti, or get a reman from Kragen, which has lifetime replacement so I can just spend 4hrs. a few times a year replacing the opti over and over again. Or at least thats what I hear is that reman opti's usually fail.

Whats the prices on dynasparks these days though? Last time I looked was probably a year ago, and it was $650-700, def. not in my budget. MSD opti at $440 in some places, I can probably swing that. Might just go with the reman cause I can have that later today/tuesday.

Yeah they run $600. They really should get with the times and lower the price to compete.

Do you have a ls or lt car? Just wondering as your pic over there below your name has a ls1 front end.

Well I ordered the MSD opti today, after taxes it was $545 at Kragen. They price matched summit then applied tax. Better than $571 before taxes which is what they normally charge. Should be in Wed. Hopefully my problems will stop after this.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that a remanufactured opti won't come with the cap and rotor, and well the cap and rotor costs more than the opti! Yeah I would have gotten a reman opti and just regular cap and rotor would cost $430! Yeah spring for the MSD or Dynaspark if not going for a GM opti, never spend the money on the damn reman units.

Just to let you guys know it was the opti. Now my abs inop light comes on though, about 30 seconds once driving it, and dosen't go off. It does turn off after turning the car off but always after driving like a 1/4 mile it comes back on.

I'm guessing I have air pockets in my cooling system also as sometimes the temp is crazy, rises really high and then very rapidly falls.
