Default Pulling the steering wheel

Those who have pulled the steering wheel from their LT1 car, did you need a puller or did you just take off the big center nut and give the wheel a good tug?

Related question: Anyone have an airbag cover I can buy off you?

I removed my driver's airbag last night and want to replace the (empty) cover back on the steering wheel so it doesn't look ghetto with a big gaping hole in it. I discovered that the airbag frame itself is riveted to the airbag cover. I would rather not ruin it by drilling all th rivets out, so I'm seeking an extra cover to throw on there. Anyone whose airbag deployed may have this cover laying around. Please let me know.

Thanks.

(I'm asking about pulling the wheel because if I cannot find a spare airbag cover, I may replace the stock wheel with a lightweight aftermarket one)

You can rent a puller from Autozone for free. Might as well
