Default While the engine is apart...

As some know I sold my Camaro but kept the engine. The motor only had less than 1500 miles on it but since we had the motor removed and the pan off (since the oil pan doesnt fit) we decided to look over some things to ensure all is perfect before reinstalling the motor and we noticed the rod bearing were showing wear so I ordered more along with some main bearings. Is there anything else we should replace while were in there? The wear was attributed we believe to the amount of fuel that was mixed in the oil. My tune was rich I think.

You'd have to be running rediculously rich to get enough gas to seep past the rings. I'm not even sure if thats possible in a FI car.

Also, if you change your bearings you need to get the crank turned.

I think. lol

Ive seen it happen when people have bad fuel injectors. What are you suggesting? Not having the crank turned, just using standard size bearings. If it's something else now is the time to fix it.

No I meant getting the bearing surfaces on the crank resurfaced. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to when you change your bearings.

Thanks for the heads up. When do people require the +1 +10 and +1X size bearings?
