Default Do airfoils really work?

Are airfoils really worth getting, or are they just snake oil? I bought one when I was younger for my 89 iroc, when I thought K&N airfilters were the most amazing thing ever, ive come a ways since then, just seeing if anyone thinks their worth it. And if so is there a brand I should stay away from?

not useless. but not much gain either.

The idea makes sense, that's why all aftermarket throttle bodies have that design built in.

Air Foil - The next extremely common useless item is the throttle body air foil. There are many variations on the air foil, but they all work on the same principle. In theory the air entering the throttle body is very turbulent which restricts airflow. By installing the air foil the source of turbulence is eliminated and more air is allowed to flow into the engine. The theory sounds really nice but in practice the air foil has been dyno and track proven to not produce any gain. It may work exactly as it says to reduce turbulence, but since this does not produce any horsepower gains it is just as easy to save the money.

Again, it's not useless. Useless means that there is no point. There is a point to an Air foil, it's just a low priority point.

I have one in my car, but I got it for free. I wouldn't pay for one though.

i got one , if you look at the TB where the foil goes, theres a nice "wall" screwin with the air flow. And im sprayin nitrous so it helps spray it into the car instead of hitting the "wall" making the nitrous all sorts of crappy flow!
