Which tire is the one to get? This is going to be for everyday driving. I currently have 275/40/17 nitto 555r's and they don't really get that good of traction. I would like an improvment. Which is the best street drag tire? Something that would also be good for the track every now and then...

I have a 94 Z28 A4 with bolt ons. I ran an 8.4 in the 1/8 with the nitto's. I just barely got a 1.9 60' though...

The 3rd link seems to be more of a street tire and to me looks similiar to the nitto 555r DR. Do you think the BFG 3rd link will have better traction than the nitto 555r?

If your looking for more grip get the drag radials. Either one will be fine. I'm partial to the way the first ones look.

I have the KDs that are in the 3rd link and have gotten a 1.829 60' in my m6 and a handful of 1.9x. They're a great street tire (I don't see myself ever buying a different street tire for my car) but it's still not at the same level of a drag radial.

So, are the KDs better than the nitto 555r's?

Well, the KDs are all back ordered and are more expensive. So, i'll be getting the first link. I hope that's a good choice. I think they have a pretty cool design.

out of the three...i vote for the first drag radial. just out of curiosity...what about the KDWs...? my boss has them on his mercedes sport coupe and not only do they have great traction and handle well...they're smooth and look great.

edit: i just read the last post and you already made up your mind so my post wasnt really needed...but i just have to say...thats some nice rubber... i want the same drag radials. they look bad ***.

That's weird. I was just at the tire place today and they showed me a picture of the tire i have listed in the first link and it was a 275/40/17. They had it right out of summit magazine as well...My friend works there, so i wouldn't think they would get the wrong thing. If it's the wrong tire, i won't get it. Although, i guess it doesn't matter. Regardless, it's a 275/40/17 drag radial. Now, im just not sure what the tread pattern will look like. Anyone know?

I have the BFG KD's all around and have about 4K miles on them. They are great handling tires, but my blown 383 will roast them after a downshift at 55mph, so I'm looking to sell the rears (275/40/17) and put on drag radials. Mine is not a daily driver but is street registered.

If you're interested I could take photos and figure out a price.

PM me.

Jim
