How much does datamaster cost? Someone mention it would be good if the wideband could communicate with the data logger, does datamaster do this?

Can you run off of just the TPS with any of the OBD1 programmers?

I still haven't got the last car I put a large cam on running properly with the MAF (94 VR6) bucks at low rpm part throttle.

 

how much does tunercats cost. and all the other stuff needed to tune cars. i was supposed to get cats with the motor i just got but the guy screwed me. so leaves me to buy it. how hard is it to use and master

 

I have BOTH and IMO Tunercat is better by far. Tunercat posts updates for their so???are ALL THE TIME, so you will always be getting new stuff to tweak in your ECM with the Tunercat so???are. I have NEVER seen an update for LT1 Edit so???are. Also Tunercat is NOT VIN Locked which means once you learn how to tune YOUR CAR you can start charging all your buddies for tuning their cars

 

i am ordering the 94-95 lt1 definition file and RT tuner and the cable with both obd1 and obd 2 plugs (for my new car) what else do i need from cats to do the tune. isnt there something that has to convert the information to put from your computer to your cars pcm

 

You don't want the RT tuner that is for 93s. You just want the regular Tuner program.

 

how is it just for 93s. also does anyone have any good settings for a stock 97 trans am so i can get the most outa it. also whatelse do i need besides the tuner. and does tunercats make a tuner for obdII

 

There's RT Tuner and Tuner on their website. RT Tuner is for 93s (they have a different ecm) Tuner is for 94-95.

 

Yeah you can't use RT Tuner, LT1 ECM's are FLASH based ECM's and they won't work with a ROMulator which is what else you would need if you were going to use RT Tuner.

 

I have a question about the pricing on tunercat. As far as software goes, do I need the "Tuner" for $69.95 and add the 94-95 LT1 Definition file for $19.95?

 

Jet bought the Tunercat for OBDII cars, which includes the 97. It is also PCM locked, IIRC.

WOW WTF? I didn't even realize that it did that. I guess the issue has been cleared up in another thread where the admin has blocked the use of the term F.T.W. yet at the same time it will cause all other words that use those three letters to be replaced with ???
