Good LT1 Test Day!
A few weeks back I did a couple of upgrades to my old Camaro Stocker for the new owner Mark Beaver. Today he arranged for us to test the car at Mooresville Dragway. We were really lucky because Jason Line allowed us to run during his test session and the track was in great shape.
First Pass - Mark spun the tires to a 6.91 with a 1.45 sixty foot time.
Second Pass - After reviewing the data that we logged I changed some of the tune-up and dropped the tire pressure. Mark ran a 6.81 with a 1.37 sixty foot.
Third Pass - No changes 6.80 with a 1.36 sixty foot.
Final Pass - Made a few tuning changes and......
60 ft 1.343
330 ft 4.258
660 ft 6.727
mph 100.7
The air was betwean 2500-2700 all afternoon. Not bad for unported heads and intake, stock injectors, and a stock throttle body! I can't wait to see what it will run in good air.

I'm really lucky to have Mark as a friend. He has been racing "since Moby Dick was a minow" (quoting Mark) and knows a bunch of people. The only other person testing today was Tommy Mauney of Pro Mod fame with one of his customers. Without a doubt, our Stock Eliminator car looked a little slow compared to the other two Hot Rods!!

That's pretty darn good for a cam only Stocker. Which class are you running A or B? You should be able to get your sixty foot times down into the low 1.4's without too much work. Feel free to e-mail me. I am very interrested to learn about the European scene.
Good Luck,

We ran Marks Camaro at a little over 3200 lbs (B/FIA minimum). That is with 200 lbs of Ballast and Mark weighs-in at about 180 lbs. The car still has both factory front seats, dash, all interior panels, headliner, carpet, stock K-member, front and rear energy absorbing materials under the bumpers, all OEM body panels, and factory rear disks! My new Firebird should be quite a bit lighter than the Camaro. These cars can get pretty light before they have to look like race cars.

We like to work at the 60' and 330', once that is good then things usually take care of themself. But then again, we dont make any power, we just use what we are given.

We like to test in the 1/8 th. It is much easier on parts and there is not as much to learn once you shift into third gear.
1/8th mile racing is like stopping in the middle of sex.
I baseline mine on the dyno, then finish tweaking at the track.
You don't use MPH for tuning?
