Default Help me choose a slick ?

What do you guys suggest for the correct tire on a 15 x 9.75 inch rim for drag racing, 6 spd car with 4:11's ? I'm leaning towards a Hoosier slick, but not sure how wide I should go with a pure bolt-on motor. I want to put enough tire to get the car to hook hard, but don't want the tire to be to big and take alot MPH from top-end. Suggestions, please .. . . . .

The tire size is determined by the wheel size pritty much. If you go with Hoosier QT/P or M/T e/t street you should go with 26x11.5x15. With the M/T or BFG D/R 275/50R15.
Drag tires such as M/T e/t drag 26x10.5x15.

I was just thinking a 10.5" wide slick might be just a little narrower and promote slightly higher MPH on the big end as well as still hook well enough to have great 60ft's. I'm hoping for something in the high 1.6's. I just want to get to a 1.69 Being a bolt-on car I did not want to take to much MPH away from the car by using too big of a slick. I'm leaning towards the Hoosier, my experience with their tire has been the best. I've used an ET street before, but the car did not hook as hard for some reason.

hmm thats kind of weird. a few of my friend are running the et streets, and are getting 1.6-1.7 60's all the time. good luck with whichever tire you choose. keep me updated!
