Hell, I did just the 1.6 full rollers on a stock cam and picked up about 20/20, with a tune.

You'll see benefits, but not as much as you might with heads/cam.

you will be some where between, 320 and 360 at the wheels, however, be careful with the cam choice as in, do u want to keep it when head work is due, do u mind High idle, what other mods are going to have with the cam only setup?

remember, big is not always better.

good luck,
Eyad.

so far i have pacesetter headers/ory and borla with an slp ls1 lid on my lt1 w/k&n filter, i was thinking about a 232/230 or so, maybe up to a 236/233. If i get one now i can do heads later on right? I am pretty much just wanting to do the cam tho because when my lt1 blows im eithor going to put a 408 stroker longblock or a 6.0 LS2 engine in it, but id like to see some gains without spending 1k on heads

you absolutely need all of the supporting mods as well, they are listed in a sticky, like headers back and at least an intake

A cam with a little more exhaust duration might work a little better.

i was looking at this thunderracing comp cam, 63-07-467-8 Comp Cams XFI LT1 Camshaft, 230 / 236, .576 / .570 113 LSA, Strong mid-range and top end power. Headers, exhaust, gears, converter, computer tuning recommended.

the 113 LSA is to tame the cam, and flatten the curve out. not the best idea if you ask me. you could make alot more power with a slightly less duration(224), on a 110-112 LSA. wow, I have never seen a site with so many over caming people.

i agree with getting it on a lower lsa. id go with a 230/236 110lsa.

i have to disagree with the lower duration for more power though, look at other peoples dynos. ive never seen a 224/230 make more then a 230/236. maybee if your talking in the lower rpms, yeah it would but who wants low rpm power anyways

And that is why they grind the cams advanced 4 degrees from the factory.
