Question oil pump

im building a 383 should i put a high volume oil pump in it or just put stock back in it thanks darrell

This is almost as hot a topic as whos heads are better.

IMO a stock volume is good but talk to the guy doing the machining do things his way otherwise if something gets messed up he will blame your decision.

If you go with HV I would strongly encourage you to upgrade the oilpan. The stock setup is good with stock stroke and stock pump but start moving more oil combined with losing the windage tray to the longer stroke crank and things get scary.
