Ai Trickflow head & Blower cam
I just bought some Ai ported Trickflow heads and a custom blower cam for my '97 M6 WS6. It WILL be used for a forced induction forged 355. But I will not be putting the blower on or doing the bottom end till next winter. The valvetrain is all done with Pro-Mag 1.6's and everything else and Ai is aslo porting my intake manifold. All the bolt-on's are done and I have a 12-bolt and a Spec clutch. Here are my questions:
- With the Trickflows and the blower cam on my stock bottom end, will I not hardly see any gains?
- Would it be a good idea or not to buy a different cam (CC306 or GM847) to help get a little more power untill I get the blower put on next winter and put my blower cam in then?
-Any suggestions on getting the most out of this package without the blower on?
I was hoping to see around 400hp, but Im thinking that wont happen with these heads dropping my compression.
Thanks

Talk to AI about a Comp grind "for now" and shelve the blower grind till you are ready for it.
With those heads on a stock shortblock I would be looking for a cam that will increase DCR if you don't want AI to help with this consider one of the little Lingenfelter grinds. I am sure Ron would love to help you with this though and their price on Comp cams is competitive.
