hesitation/misfire Have a 94 Z, and recently developed a hesitation or a missfire. Have had a burnt plug wire in the past which caused a similar condition, and this doesn't appear to be the case. Idle is slightly erratic, power is down, and overall driveability sucks. Recently put in a Blaster coil, MSD 8.5 wires, and Digital 6 ignition, and everything was running fine for a few weeks, this is a problem that just all of the sudden came on. Any suggestions would be appreciated, because at this point my only option is taking it into to someone to look at, because I'm lost on this one.
Re: Need help with hesitation/missfire Ever had a cap & rotor done +is water pump new or is it leaking? You got the old opti-spark system W/non-vented cap those are more $$ + more troublesome.

Re: Need help with hesitation/missfire I had issues with this in a way. My problem ended up being a hairline crack in a valve spring on the exhaust side of the #5 cylinder. This in turn was effecting cylinder #7. Car was driveable but had same issue you were reporting. Not sure what your other specs on your car are but if you are running new cam etc. you may have this issue.

Re: Need help with hesitation/missfire Sometimes a faulty EGR valve can cause a problem like that. I had a light throttle, low rpm surge in mine that turned out to be a bad EGR valve.

Re: Need help with hesitation/missfire Check your O2's. I had a very similar problem and it ended up being 2 bad O2 senser's. Fixed it and it runs better than ever. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
