please help. i cant get it right!!

please help. i cant get it right!! okay i have a 96 z28. some idiot before me put a 94 motor and a t56 in it. not the problem.
the problem is. i went through a coil. 3 sets of plugs )tryin to get it right) burned some wires and cut 1 on the a/c pully. new opti . msd cap and rotor.
IN ORDER
1st. my rotor exploded whitch is commom for lt1.
2nd. then went out my msd coil.
then a set of plugs.(cuz my wires were fuct( my fault)
3rd. opti spark.
and still misses BUT
off of my battery theres a RED wire going up onto the wheel well connecting it to a RED little box( with a cap) out of that box come some( fusable link wires /black)
well that box got melted and the RED wire off of my battert is extremely HOT. so thats my prob at the moment. what could make that wire get sooo damn hot????
please help. i miss drivin my baby.
some mods. on the motor are just, bbk 58 t.b. bbk shorty headers. no cats to a borla exh( for an LS1 3.5 inch) msg cap rotor & coil .the baby crane cam. lots of other mods to car just havent done the motor RIGHT quite yet. please help...
