We just finished up an SB2.2....good lord...Since you've already got them I guess it'll be worth it. They ended up being a major pain but on motor in a S10 (this one weighs as much as an f-body) they went mid 9's on the very first pass. Block was a bowtie by the way...

mid 9s on motor is my intention <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> . then we'll see what the nitrous brings <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

This thread brings to mind a question I've had forever. If so much is similar between the Gen I and LT1 motors, why can't say a Brodix Track 1 head be adapted to work on an LT1? I know the reverse cooling angle and the requirement to drill water/steam holes here and there would be necessary but none of that seems insurmountable. Yet every one I ask has a quick and ready flat "NO!" when I ask about the possibility. What I DON'T hear is *the* reason why not. I'm not looking for a bolt on, but in the realm we live in of adaptation, I don't understand why it couldn't or hasn't been done. Those heads flow great right off of Summit's shelf and are more cost effective that a set of GTP ported stock castings.
Thanks,
Dave

hmm....now this is really starting to get interesting. if a shop would convert SBC heads to use on an LT1/4 then i'd be the first in line w/ my credit card.

Cenman,

Hold onto your credit card, an upcoming LS1Tech Sponsor will be offering such packages in the very near future. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

SBC heads (Brodix, ProAction, SB2) can be and have been converted for use on LTx motors by a handful of people before.

you talking about the intake Joe?

mine never made it on the car. got it machined to fit the LT1 heads and started cutting the cowl but im short on time to get the car going this year so i just put the LT4 intake back on <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> . now ive got a set of SB2.2s for next year that it wont work on <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />
